Genetic Harmonies

A Co Creative tool to generate harmonies using Genetic Algorithm. 

You first play a melody on a virtual intrument, and then rate the harmonies produced by the algorithm. These ratings serve as the fitness values for the harmonies, which the algorithm uses to generate the next population of harmonies.

INSTRUCTIONS

Use the second alphabetical row of your keyboard (A,S,D,F,G,H,J) to play the instrument.

1: Record a melody

2: Tweak the parameters for the algorithm, i.e mutation probability, number of mutations, elitism and population size.

3: Generate harmonies and rate them.

4. The algorithm uses the ratings for crossover and generates new harmonies.
